Important: ShowCar profiles are designed to be public. Images, vehicle details, social links and other information you publish are added at your own risk and may be viewed, copied, shared, indexed, cached or misused by other people.

1. About these terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of ShowCar ("ShowCar", "we", "us" or "our"). By creating an account or using ShowCar, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Notice, Cookie Notice and other policies linked from the website.

If you do not agree, do not create an account or upload content. Questions can be sent to info@showcar.uk.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without permission. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless it results from something ShowCar is legally responsible for.

You must be at least 18 years old, or have permission from a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf.

3. Public profiles, QR codes and NFC links

Car profiles, photographs, names, descriptions, build information, sponsors, event activity and social links may be publicly accessible. A ShowCar QR code or NFC link is intended to make that public information easier to open and share.

• Only publish information you are comfortable making available worldwide.
• Do not upload home addresses, precise live locations, private contact details, access codes, financial information or other sensitive data.
• Consider obscuring registration plates, faces, documents, house numbers and location clues before uploading an image.
• Once public information has been copied, indexed, cached, downloaded or shared by somebody else, ShowCar may not be able to retrieve or delete every external copy.

All content and data you choose to make public is added at your own risk. ShowCar is not responsible for unauthorised copying, republication, identification, contact, harassment, fraud or other misuse by third parties that is outside our reasonable control.

4. What happens to your images and content

You keep ownership of content you upload. You give ShowCar a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, validate, resize, crop, compress, convert, reproduce, display and transmit that content only as reasonably necessary to operate, secure and present the ShowCar service.

Uploaded images may be checked for supported file types, resized, compressed and converted to a web-friendly format. Copies may be stored on ShowCar infrastructure, delivered to visitors' devices and temporarily cached to improve performance.

The licence ends when the content is deleted from the live service, except where a copy must temporarily remain in a backup, security record, legal record or third-party cache, or where another person has lawfully copied or shared public content before deletion.

5. Your responsibility for uploaded content

You confirm that you own your content or have all permissions needed to upload and publish it. You are responsible for ensuring that your content is accurate, lawful and does not infringe another person's copyright, trade mark, privacy, confidentiality, data-protection or other rights.

You must not upload or use ShowCar to distribute:

• unlawful, fraudulent, threatening, hateful, harassing, defamatory or obscene material;
• content that identifies or exposes another person without an appropriate lawful basis or permission;
• images of children or vulnerable people without proper authority;
• stolen content, malicious code, deceptive links, spam or impersonation; or
• anything that facilitates crime, unsafe driving, vehicle theft or unauthorised access.

6. Personal data

We process account, location, profile, security, analytics and other information as described in our Privacy Notice. At signup we record the date and version of the Terms you accepted. Marketing choices remain separate and are optional.

Nothing in these terms removes ShowCar's responsibilities for personal data where data-protection law applies to us. Your responsibility for what you publish does not allow ShowCar to avoid duties that the law says cannot be excluded.

7. Social networks, advertisers and external services

ShowCar may contain links to social networks, sponsors, advertisers, ticket providers and other third-party websites. We do not control their content, security, availability, data use or terms. Opening or dealing with an external service is at your own risk and creates a relationship between you and that third party.

8. Moderation and removal

We may investigate reports and remove, restrict or disable content, links, profiles or accounts that we reasonably believe breach these terms, infringe rights, create a safety or security risk, expose ShowCar to liability or are otherwise unlawful or harmful. We may preserve relevant records where reasonably required for security, disputes or legal obligations.

9. Availability and changes

ShowCar is provided on an "as available" basis. We may maintain, change, suspend or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, permanent storage, a particular level of profile traffic, points, ranking, advertising results or compatibility with every device, QR reader, NFC device or third-party platform.

You should keep your own copies of important images and information. ShowCar is not a backup or permanent archive service.

10. Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ShowCar is not responsible for losses caused by information a user chooses to publish, third-party copying or misuse, external websites, inaccurate user content, lost access to content, or events outside our reasonable control. We are not responsible for indirect or consequential loss, loss of opportunity, reputation, revenue or data where the law allows that exclusion.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability or consumer right that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

11. Ending an account

You may stop using ShowCar and use the account-deletion option where available. We may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated breaches, security threats, unlawful activity or where necessary to protect users or the service.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service, law or risks change. The version date at the top identifies the terms currently in force. Where a material change affects existing users, we may provide notice or ask users to accept the updated terms.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you keep any mandatory rights to bring proceedings in the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
